| Key plans under way for Toowoomba |

 We are currently working with Toowoomba City Council to deliver a Regional Strategic Sport and Recreation Plan and an Open Space Network Strategy.The recent local government reform process was particularly challenging for the eight councils that merged to create the Toowoomba Regional Council. The amalgamation has meant the need to understand and rationalise eight different policies across all council functions, including those relating to sport, recreation and open space. Our aim in preparing the Regional Strategic Sport and Recreation Plan and an Open Space Network Strategy is to recognise the culture and identity of each of the more than 30 communities now part of the regional council. Initial consultation has taken place and we’re now set to start another round of community feedback. |
