Maryborough City CouncilCouncil recognised the need to undertake a major redevelopment of its existing aquatic centre and employed ROSS Planning to determine the feasibility of such a project. Detailed consultation and benchmarking of similar facilities within the region was undertaken to develop concept designs for the redevelopment. The ongoing viability of the upgraded facility was then tested. Due to the high cost of constructing aquatic facilities, the study recommended Council stage the redevelopment, and provided an appropriate implementation plan. Alternative development options were also provided, along with further recommendations regarding financial management and operational procedures. Whitsunday Regional CouncilThe purpose of this project was to develop a master plan for the Proserpine Memorial Swimming Pool to guide the immediate to medium term (10 years) upgrade of the venue. An implementation strategy, based on realistic funding sources (both Council and external), was also included in the final documentation. The master plan, including the conceptual designs, was developed to maximise Council’s ability to attract external funding such as the state government’s Major Facilities Program. |
